If   you   think   about   professions   with   difficult   working   conditions, probably    the    orchestra    musician    won’t    come    to    your    mind. Classical   concerts   are   a   precious   part   of   our   culture   –   but   are stressing    the    musicians    tremendously.    A    high    noise    level    and strained    seating    on    ergonomically    inappropriate    furniture    for several    hours    a    day,    can    cause    serious    health    problems.    The concept    study    C1    counteracts    these    phenomena    and    supports orchestra    musicians    in    their    working    routine,    improves    disease prevention, well-being and also the quality of their work.
Through     a     long     and     intensive     collaboration     with     orchestra musicians   of   the   Staatstheater   in   Karlsruhe   and   an   extensive   and meticulously   development   the   C1   revolutionizes   the   ergonomics   of the   musicians   and   also   the   handling   of   all   involved   persons   in relation to transport, storage and sustainability. We   are   Felix   Cordes   and   Michael   Müller,   Industrial   Design   students at    the    University    of    Applied    Sciences    Schwäbisch    Gmünd    and developed    the    C1    in    cooperation    with    Wilde    +    Spieth,    the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Unfallkasse Baden-Württemberg.
C1    sets    new    standards    and    exceeds    all    requirements    that    a contemporary   orchestra   chair   has   to   offer.   Its   high   adaptability   to physical   conditions   and   individual   preferences,   in   addition   to   the simple   and   intuitive   control,   creates   a   wide   range   of   application possibilities   for   professional   musicians   of   an   orchestra.   This   chair is ergonomic, because it lets you sit as you need it.
The   low-complex,   but   strong   construction   resists   a   permanent   load up   to   130   kg   over   years   and   has   a   very   low   own   weight   of   6   kg. Optimal    transport    and    space-saving    storage    is    ensured    by    the outstanding    stackability    in    combination    with    a    wide    range    of storage    possibilities.    In    case    of    maintenance,    any    parts    can    be repaired    or    replaced    quickly    and    easily    thanks    to    the    simple construction.

Playing cello is really fun to me, but there are many problems taking away the pleasure of playing.
